There is Nothing Left to Forgive
The process of forgiveness is an act of letting go and the gateway to lifting out of limited beliefs, wound cycles and judgments. There are many ways to step into forgiveness and we will showcase one of those ways here.
Why is it important to practice forgiveness?
It frees us.
The steps in forgiveness opens up a process where we are able to look at our attachments, wounding/triggers and expectations of ourselves and others. It allows us choice in our level of consciousness as we look at ourselves, our experiences and others with love and acceptance instead of anger and judgement.
When you hold onto hurts and resentment, you lower YOUR frequency. It is not affecting the person or situation in which you are holding the hurt or resentment. Forgiveness liberates YOU. It literally raises your frequency.
When you are able to see that a person or event is simply playing out in the highest level of consciousness possible in that moment, you realize that you are only hurting yourself by assigning blame to something that had no other option but to play out in the way that it did.
Now, hear me out here. I know. I know. You are thinking, “Well, there is no way that what they did was at their highest level of consciousness.” I am here to offer you that, yes, it was. Here is the thing. No one EVER expresses at a level of consciousness that is lower than their current vibration. Ever. Think about that. You yourself have had moments where you “dip” into a level of consciousness where you react vs respond with conscious choice. We all do. It is part of being human and navigating through this life. It brings forward our wounds for us to look at. Ascension comes in when you can see it and CHOOSE differently the next time around. That is rising consciousness.
So, who is forgiveness for? Kind of a trick question here….it is for you! When you look at your attachment to an anger response, it brings you the opportunity to look at why you are triggered and then to offer yourself forgiveness around it. You begin to see that it is all about you and FOR you. You can simultaneously feel compassion, grace and love for the person or situation because you know you are ALL/BOTH operating at current levels of consciousness.
Here are 3 simple steps in one forgiveness process:
1. Honor that you are hurt and be in your truth around it, including expressing the way you feel in a compassionate, graceful
and loving way for ALL involved.
2. Lift your awareness and see that everyone is expressing at their highest level of consciousness in that NOW moment.
3. Write or verbally express your feelings and choose your level of future connection ALWAYS based in love.
Here is where the magic happens… When you see that all is playing out in the highest levels of consciousness you realize that there is really nothing left to forgive. Boom. Mic drop. Aha moment.
Remember, forgiveness is not pretending that you are NOT hurt.
It is NOT giving the green light for it to happen again.
It is NOT excusing the behavior.
It is also NOT choosing to continue in the relationship.
That choice comes once forgiveness is experienced, not as a part of the forgiveness process itself.
So, give yourself a gift. Forgive and know that all is expressing in its highest. When we are aware and look within, we shift.
